Tools ChangeLog
1 reference in 20070522 to Characters:

  • "HTML Typing Mode:" when this feature is enabled, special characters are automatically converted to HTML character entities while typing. This avoids the need to use a separate menu to insert special characters. Most useful when editing HTML pages written in languages with accent characters and high Unicode characters. To change to HTML typing mode, select "View > Editor > Typing Mode > HTML Characters" from the main menu. The "Normal" option resets to normal/regular typing mode which doesn't convert special characters. Also accessible from "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Edit > Shortcuts." Special characters are defined in this case as characters below the space character (ASCII/Unicode 32) and characters above the '~' character (ASCII/Unicode 126). To test, enable HTML Typing Mode, hold the Alt key down and press the following numbers in the numeric pad: 0128 The HTML entity for the Euro symbol -- "€" -- should be inserted instead of the Euro symbol character.
