- Any typos/errors in the body of a HHP plugin will no longer affect its registration on the Actions Bar
- Ability to easily list/delist plugins, templates, translations, and other similar items without deleting the actual item. This feature can be used to hide a plugin from the Actions Bar or not display a snippet on the menu, without deleting the items from the manager. To test, open the templates (or similar) manager, uncheck the item to delist and click OK. The unchecked item will be hidden until it's checked again
- New Actions Bar interface. This interface attempts to combine the features presented in HTML-Kit Actions Bar 2.0 while keeping the familiarity of previous toolbars and the new Vista style. Known issues: language switching is not supported by menus and buttons on the Actions Bar

This also helps to reduce clutter on the Actions Bar. To install one or more PHP plugins, select "Tools > Install Plugins > HTML Plugins" from the main menu

- Ability to quickly switch or override the colorizer for the current file. This feature makes it easier to view files using different colorizers regardless of the file extension. Also makes it possible to view new and not yet supported file types using one of the available colorizers. Even when a file type has a matching colorizer, sometimes it can be useful to be able to apply a different colorizer, for example to apply differnet folding or to highlight only certain sections of a file. To change the colorizer, select "View > Colorizer Type" from the main menu or use the "Actions Bar > Edit > View > Colorizer" icon. Clicking the icon toggles colorizing on/off.
- Incremental search with visual feedback. Ctrl+I keyboard shortcut, "Edit > Incremental Search" menu option or the "Actions Bar > Edit > Find" icons can be used to invoke this feature. To use, press Ctrl+I and start typing the search text. The next match will be highlighted in the editor as the search text is being typed. Once a full match or enough of a partial match is found, press Enter to go to it. The F3 key (or "Edit > Find Next" menu option) can be used to find the next match. If the end of the document is reached while looking for the next match, the search will restart from the top of the document.
- Dialog box for creating new documents based on templates. Ctrl+N keyboard shortcut, "File > New > New" menu option, or one of the Actions Bar drop-down menus with this option can be used to invoke this function.
- Shift+Ctrl+I keyboard shortcut for inserting code snippets. "File > Insert > Insert Snippet" menu option and some Actions Bar drop-down menus also provide access to this dialog.
- "Actions Bar > Start > Plugins" drop-down menu displays icons related to plugin type
- Several methods of opening multiple files, including the common "open file" method, opening from a list of file names manually typed or pasted, opening all files in a folder including its sub-folders, and more. To use this feature, select "File > Open From > Open Plus" from the main menu. Or, click the Open icon on the Actions Bar while holding the Shift key down. Also accessible from the drop-down list of the first open button on the Actions Bar.
- Ability to open one or more files by dragging and dropping from the Windows Explorer (or a Windows foloder). To use this feature, open a Windows folder, select one or more files, and drag and drop the selection on the Actions Bar. Checks if the dropped files are known text files and provides a prompt for skipping files.

- The alpha expiration notice is no longer displayed on application startup. Instead, a reminder icon is displayed on the Actions Bar as the expiration nears.
- Pop-up hints that preview images support ICO files, making it possible to preview *.ico favicons by hovering the mouse over icon files. "Actions Bar > Channel 3 > Images Window" also support ICO files.

- Context Sensitive Keys ("Context Keys"): this HTML-Kit Tools feature introduces a new set of keyboard shortcuts. Unlike other keyboard shortcuts, Context Keys are easily interchangeable. For example, one set of Context Keys can be activated while editing HTML files, while another set can be activated when editing JavaScript files. To change the currently active set of Context Keys, select "Tools > Context Keys" from the main menu or use the drop-down menu on "Actions Bar > Channel 1 > Edit > Shortcuts." To invoke a Context Key, press Ctrl+P keyboard shortcut. Since Context Keys can be updated through the plugins interface, virtually unlimited number of keyboard shortcuts can be hot swapped while editing. To make it easier to recall shortcuts, a summary is displayed on Ctrl+P.
- New "Shortcuts" section on the Actions Bar, under "Channel 1 > Edit." This section provides quick access to Context Keys, custom keyboard shortcuts, Ctrl+K and Ctrl+Q based shortcuts, and keyboard shortcuts reference.
- "Paste In-place" option for pasting text without moving the cursor. Currently accessible through the "Edit > Paste Plus" sub-menu and the "Paste" drop-down on the Actions Bar.~ By contrast, the regular paste option moves the cursor to the end of the text.

- Bookmarks Window: this new feature provides a centralized location for viewing and accessing bookmarks in all open documents. A snippet from each bookmarked line is displayed as a quick reference. "Edit > Bookmarks > Boomarks Window" menu option and "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Edit > Navigate" provide access to this function. Additional information, such as snippets from surrounding lines, to be added in the future.

- "Edit > Navigate > Go To Last Position" option for quickly jumping to the last caret position. This can be useful when switching between two distant positions in the document. For example, after jumping to a bookmark, Alt+F2 can be used to go back to the position before the bookmark. Pressing Alt+F2 again jumps back to the bookmark. Alt+F2 keyboard shortcut and "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Edit > Navigate" provide faster access to this function.
- Moved "Default Browser Window" and "New Browser Window" options from "View > Window" to "View > Preview." Also added these options to "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Tools > Preview"
- If a HKT HTML plugin that's already open is reopened (usually by clicking its icon on "Actions Bar > Ch-2"), and if the plugin source code has been modified since the last open, the plugin window refreshes itself. Previously it was necessary to close and reopen the window.
- "Code Comments" icon on "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Edit > Navigate" and the Start window.
- "HTML Typing Mode:" when this feature is enabled, special characters are automatically converted to HTML character entities while typing. This avoids the need to use a separate menu to insert special characters. Most useful when editing HTML pages written in languages with accent characters and high Unicode characters. To change to HTML typing mode, select "View > Editor > Typing Mode > HTML Characters" from the main menu. The "Normal" option resets to normal/regular typing mode which doesn't convert special characters. Also accessible from "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Edit > Shortcuts." Special characters are defined in this case as characters below the space character (ASCII/Unicode 32) and characters above the '~' character (ASCII/Unicode 126). To test, enable HTML Typing Mode, hold the Alt key down and press the following numbers in the numeric pad: 0128 The HTML entity for the Euro symbol -- "€" -- should be inserted instead of the Euro symbol character.
- Removed icons for hiding the Actions Bar from the top menu area (next to the "Kit" menu). "View > Actions Bar" menu options and the keyboard shortcuts assigned to them can be used to toggle the Actions Bar.
- Changed the appearance of new, open and save icons on the static icon area of the Actions Bar. The goal is to differentiate them from other icons while decreasing profile, given that they are static/fixed icons.

When inside the preferences dialog, the "Active Set" section can be used to change sets of preferences and to create new sets.
- "File > Restore > Save Current Session" option for manually saving unsaved files in the current session. This can be used when automatic session backups are turned off. Also accessible from "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Edit > Undo/Restore" drop-down menu.
- Preferences dialog setting: "Startup > Show Actions Bar" option can be used to hide the Actions Bar post startup. F11 keyboard shortcut toggles the Actions Bar on and off.

- Easily look up keywords on multiple online references using the new "Help > References" interface. To use this feature, select "Help > References > Online references" from the main menu or click the online references icon on the Actions Bar. Enter a keyword at the top and click one or more of the listed references. The icon to the side of keywords field can be used to look up the word at the caret. To look up multiple words in the editor, select the words before clicking this icon. More references will be added in upcoming updates.
- "References" icon on the Actions Bar displays a drop-down list of currently installed references. Selecting a reference from the drop-down menu makes it the default until another reference is clicked.
- List Tools: A growing list of actions and options for creating various types of lists. Currently supports creating OL, UL, SELECT, DIV, SPAN and P lists. Also supports creating lists using custom tags, for example when working with XML documents that are not based on HTML standard tags. To create a list using one of these actions, select lines to be converted to list items and invoke "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Tools > Text Tools."
- Additional hints for menu options and Actions Bar items to make it easier for newcomers to get started. For example, menu options that require a document to be open or some text to be selected before they become enabled display these requirements on the hint. Menu option hints are usually displayed on the Status Bar.
- "Text to encoded URL" and "Encoded URL to text" options that can be used to convert between regular text and URL-safe characters. For example, "My Folder:1" becomes "My%20Folder%3a1" when converting to encoded URL. "Encoded URL to text" option can be used to convert "My%20Folder%3a1" back to the original text. These options are accessible through "Edit > Paste Plus," "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Tools > TextTools" and other related menus.
- "View > Actions Bar > Image Preview Path" opens the image preview window on the Actions Bar to the specified path. If a local document is open, the folder picker defaults to the document path. If no document is open, defaults to the previous image preview path. Also accessible from "Actions Bar > Ch-3 > Image Preview Window"
- "Refresh Image Preview" option on "View > Actions Bar" can be used to refresh thumbnails on the image preview window. If a path has not been set, brings up folder picker for image preview window.
- Quickly switch document tabs using keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+Q,1 through Ctrl+Q,9. "View > Window" menu can also be used to view the names of currently open documents and switch to one of them. On the Actions Bar, "CH-1 > Edit > View" drop-down menu provides access to the currently open document tabs.

When the "Escape markup characters" option is checked, also converts < > & " ' characters. "Edit > Paste Plus > Convert special characters to HTML entities" can be used to make the conversion while pasting text. "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Tools > TextTools" drop-down can be used to convert the selected text. "Paste Plus" and "TextTools" options on the editor context menu also provide quick access to these options.
- Ability to easily re-upload files with "File > Upload" option. Also accessible with Ctrl+U keyboard shortcut and "Upload" button on "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Start." This new feature can be specially useful when editing documents on a laptop since it makes it possible to easily upload documents at Internet hotspots and when other type of Internet connection becomes available. The first time this option is invoked on a document, it displays information on how to attach the current document to a FTP folder. From that point forward, even after closing the document and restarting HTML-Kit Tools, the upload button can be used to quickly upload the document back to the previously selected FTP folder.
- Button on "Actions Bar > Ch-1 > Start" for saving all modified/unsaved documents.

- Check CSS files for errors using W3C online CSS Validation Service. Click W3C CSS icon on "Actions Bar > CH-1 > Tools > Validate" or select it on "Tools > Extra" from the main menu.
- Refreshes the Actions Bar when a HTML plugin that's in the main editor is saved. Refreshes the main menu and related translations when a translation plugin in the main editor is saved.
- Auto generates the next incremental ID for id="..." and similar attributes. To use this feature, insert a tag like <p id="..."></p> using HTML tab on the Actions Bar. When inside the id="..." field, enter an ID with a number such as "para1" and press the Tab key. The next time <p id="..."></p> is inserted, a new ID -- "para2" -- will be displayed as a quick pick. The ID will increment to "para3," "para4" and so on until the ID value is changed.
