Unlike earlier versions of HTML-Kit, HTML-Kit Tools comes with a stand-alone system for storing its configuration. This makes it easier to manage and move Tools settings, projects, templates, snippets, plugins and even backup files.
You can move your current HTML-Kit Tools configuration to a new system as follows:
- In your current HTML-Kit Tools installation, select "Help > About" from the main menu and change to "Details" tab.
- Write down the "Config Path"
- Exit HTML-Kit Tools
- In Windows Explorer (or inside a Command Prompt window), change to the folder that was listed under Config Path.
- Look for these files: backup.hsf, config.hsf and plugins.hsf
- To move application settings to the new system, exit HTML-Kit Tools on that system and copy config.hsf to the Config Path on the new system. You can find out the Config Path on the new system by going to "Help > About > Details" as mentioned earlier.
- If you would like to move your current plugins as well, copy plugins.hsf to the new system.
- backup.hsf contains file backups and file versioning information.
- Open HTML-Kit Tools on the new system to initialize its new configuration.
