HTML-Kit 292 Workspace is able to auto-detect most types of FTP servers. If it’s not properly detecting your FTP server, you can manually set the FTP type as follows:

  1. Right click the FTP folder name in the HTML-Kit 292 Workspace and select "Properties"
  2. Use the "Host type" drop-down list to select the type of your FTP server.
  3. Click "OK" to close the "FTP Server Properties" dialog and reopen the FTP folder.

If you’re not sure what to select for the host type, you can check documentation for your FTP server or the web host. You can also try each host type listed, one at a time starting at the top:

  1. Select the next host type and click "OK"
  2. Open the FTP folder (also known as remote folder).
  3. If the files and folders appear correctly, the host type you’ve selected maybe compatible with your FTP server. If the files and folders do not appear correctly, repeat the process at step #1 by selecting the next host type.

If you’ve had to change the Host Type in HTML-Kit 292 Workspace to work with your FTP server, please post version information about your FTP server and the Host Type compatible with it. This may help other users find the host type for their servers.
