      the bottom button bar was a bit crowded so I grabbed the left
      margin and pulled it a bit. Result is that all buttons disappeared.

      Closing the search box and reopening it left it at the wider and
      all the buttons were there

        Good catch. I'll need to reset the size of find, and replace dialogs
        during setup.
