Suggestions about new Hosting

  • Luca, 22nd Feb 2012 4:13 am

    Hi all,
I'm from Italy and until now I'm always using italian web hosting for my works but.... I am not fully satisfied by past solutions....

I would like some suggestions for new hosting, even located in US or other countries. Approximately my requirements are the following:
    * SSH access (to manually and personally editing settings)
    * Good Technical support service
    * Powerful Control Panel to manage almost part of the webserver directly from browser.

Any other suggestions about features and particularly, solutions, will be very liked!!!

    Thank you.
    Luca, Italy.

      Hi Luca,

Since HTML-Kit site has web hosting related ads I probably shouldn't
recommend a particular host. Wish I didn't have to run ads on the site
at all but HTML-Kit by itself doesn't generate enough to do that.

I'm not very familiar with various control panels. If you don't mind
using a Linux shell to control and configure your web server, you can
get a relatively cheap virtual server (VPS) and install pretty much
anything you want on it. At least that's what I do.

        Hi chami,
I absolutely understand your point of view!!!! :-)
I'm simply asking to anyone could help me with some suggestions... anyway you remembered me other requirements, a LAMP webserver.
Idea about VPS is perfect, infact I already have a solution like that.

I don't run ads so I am not bound by that. I am not satisfied
with my host (IXwebHosting) but a friend of mine just switched to
1 and 1 web hosting and is satisfied.

Can you give and url of that solution, bill??? thank you.

Anyway I clicked on an ads of HTML-Kit site (Chami will thank me... haahah), in godaddy.com, and it seems an interesting solution at very good price.....

              google says
              http://order.1and1.com/

I have heard lots of problems with support with godaddy.
Not my report, just from newsgroups, YMMV

                Hi,

I use www.your-webshost.nl, it is a Dutch one but I believe it operates in more countries.

It works very well, the site is always up, prices are not high and support is very good.

I dont know if you can use ssh but the ISP control panel (web interface) lets you control everything on the site.
It also registers all domains on the name of the client.

                Kind regards, Ivo.

I'm jumping into this late, but do NOT use GoDaddy hosting. I am
speaking through experience with several of my customers, all of them
have since switched. Horrible support unless you demand to be taken to
the next level. They also frown upon any custom scripts and will delete
them from the server, even if they say they won't.

I would highly recommend ServInt for a reasonably priced VPS solution
              with virtually zero downtime.
