I would really like to see HTML-Kit offer zen coding. For html coders, zen coding is a fantastic power tool for quickly generating html. For anyone who hasn't tried it, it may sound like a gimmick, but once you get used to using it, you'll find it difficult to use an html editor without it.

Here's more information (including a list of editors that do support zen):

    http://code.google.com/p/zen-coding/

As a long time HTML-Kit user, I feel it's my duty to ask for this feature so that HTML-Kit can be added to that list ;-)

      Hi Jeff,

I'll work on this if you can help get Tools on there afterwards :)

One issue is though how to handle keyboard shortcuts, mainly the Tab
key. It's convenient but not everyone is going to want Tab to be
redefined. Sure that can be optional... well, sometimes it's the little
      things that slow me down.

Let me know if you have suggestions for possible keyboard shortcuts
which could stay turned on by default even if Tab isn't.

p.s. almost finished adding support for ZenCoding (Emmet). Look for this
in a new TreeHouse build very soon...

      Hi Chami,

      Thanks for adding this!

For anyone trying to understand zen coding (or to find out the hotkey), see Chami's article:

      http://www.htmlkit.com/blog/zencoding-in-html-kit/

By the way, the online help calls this the "Expand Code" option puts it on Ctrl-E.
I would suggest adding the phrase "zen coding" somewhere in this description.

      Regards,

        Hi Jeff,

You're welcome! Thanks for suggesting it.

It looks like Zen Coding is being renamed to Emmet. I'll update menu
description/hint on status bar to mention both for now. I'm always
reluctant to reserve easily accessible keyboard shortcuts though so may
keep the shortcut open for customization.
