    Chami,

I have finally convinced an internet friend that she should give HK
Tools a try. She now reports that she should have done this years ago.
She was using Dreamweaver but the latest versions are giving some
    serious headaches.

She is using Filezilla but sees an advantage in using Tools FTP to make
the process more seamless. I know that you have better things to do but
I checked past forum questions and it got involved, too involved and
probably not representative of the situation today.

Please direct me in the right direction.

Oh no problem at all Charles, and thank you for the recommendation!

So if she hasn't set up FTP yet, I'd start with "File > Projects > New
project" and then double click "Add remote folder (FTP)" in the newly
created project window. If you don't see the FTP option (if it's turned
off in preferences), right click the project name at the top and select
"Add folders / ... > Add remote folder."

Once you're at Remote Folder dialog, enter FTP server address and login
info provided by the web host. Other than that, I'd keep "Passive Mode"
      on Advanced tab checked.

        Chami,
Thanks for the information. I will make sure she sees this post haste.

        Chami,
One other question or situation. If using a sub-domain, is the path to
that sub-domain folder so designated, entered into the box "Initial
Path" in the Advanced tab? Goal would be to limit access to only those
folders in or created in the sub-domain folder.

Hope this makes sense. I just feel that you have this covered but I am
        not sure how so.

Yes you have it right Charles. If entering the subfolder alone doesn't
work, try the full path including the subfolder.
