plugins in other languages, for html-kit tools?

    Hi,

The company I work for has used and loved HTML-Kit 292 for years. We have built custom plugins to help with some of our proprietary processes; some of these are in hkscript, but most of them are in C#. HTML-Kit 292 has great support for plugins in all sorts of programming languages.

My question is - does HTML-Kit Tools also support plugins written in other programming languages? If not, are there any plans to add that support in the future?

    Thanks!

      Hi,

Oh I miss those hkScript days :) Thank you for the kind words about
      HTML-Kit!

HTML-Kit 292 had APIs in 12 some programming languages. It was a lot of
fun playing (I mean working) with those languages. In the end though,
the vast majority of plugins, maybe even up to 90%, were written in
      hkScript.

So in HTML-Kit Tools, language APIs were narrowed down to a few popular
scripting languages like JavaScript and PHP:

      http://www.html-kit.com/support/tools/php-in-plugins/

Not everyone is going to install PHP to run plugins written in PHP
though, so I'd recommend JavaScript for writing plugins that require
      processing.

I've been working on UX in recent builds but a lot more support for
plugins is coming in the next few builds.

If I can be of help converting the plugins you have or creating new ones
feel free to post here or email me directly --

Thank you for the very quick response. =)

I had found the site about creating plugins in general, but hadn't found the javascript or php sites yet. That will help, and is a step closer to our end goal. Looks like I'll have to look into those languages and see if one of them will do the things I'm doing with C# now. Yay playing and calling it work!

        Thank you again.

No problem. Depending on what you're doing with C#, a quick workaround
might be to have a PHP or JS plugin call it as a wrapper.

Have fun! and post again if anything comes up.
