    My old server died.
I brought up a new server - supposedly with all the same settings.

When I try to "upload current document" I get the error message:
    Could not upload 'challenge.php' to
    '/var/www/html/MP2010-v2/challenge.php

    I upload in passive mode.

I can upload it using FileZilla.

Where can I find the FTP log so I can see why it is failing?

    thanks,

    bill

        Hey Bill,

If you right click the FTP server in the project window, the Extra sub
menu has an option to view the log. It's cleared after each session so
you'll have to use the FTP server again and then pull up the log.

Now to figure out why the permissions are wrong for tools and not
          for FileZilla.

it is curious that the password is shown as 8 char, but is only 6.
I tried opening up the permissions to 777 for directories and 666
          for challenge.php - no joy.

I have no problem from FileZilla, but it is not a Tools problem
because when I PUT using plain FTP I get the same error.

Any thoughts, suggestions would be welcome.

Are you able to view FTP log on the server-side? Does creating a file vs
            modifying make any difference?

                  yes write_enable was enabled.

I remember back in the dark ages when I was learning programming
the instructor was emphatic, "computers do exactly what you tell
them to." May have been true then, but not now. (was never
true for windows - used to be true for linux)
One of my other instructors (systems theory) said something along
the lines of: "The behavior of an sufficiently complex system can
not be predicted." Heisenberg has infected my computer.
