Hi, I recently purchased HTML Kit Tools and I love the tool.
I installed the NL translation, but I also maintain an English site. Is it possible to have the NL translation and also use the English dictionary?
When I go to the page to add dictionaries, it only has the NK one, the US version is still in validation????
Thanks in advance for your help !
Kind regards, Ivo.
P.S. I have the latest HTML Kit Tools version (20120202).

Hi Ivo,
Yes, that should work.
If you haven't yet, please make sure that you have the English
dictionary installed in Firefox. Tools uses dictionary data from Firefox
so that it doesn't have to ship word lists. When you restart Tools it
should be able to find installed dictionaries under "Tools > Proofing >
Dictionary dialog" menu option.
Let me know if this doesn't work.
Thank you very much for the kind words :)
Regards,
Chami

Hi chami,
I'm reading your answer and I discover that Dictionary of HTML-Kit Tools is the one installed in firefox..... but in my Kit it doesn't appear...
So, if I wish to create the Italian Dictionary for Spell Check, what will I have to do?

Hi Luca,
I was trying to double check that Italian Dictionary files for Firefox
works in Tools, but... I don't see an Italian dictionary file in Firefox
10. Am I just not seeing it? Are you able to spell check Italian words
in Firefox?

Hi chami,
Effectively it seems a frequent problem with last release of Firefox. I don't have Italian Dictionary installed too...
Hi just posted this issue in MozillaItalia Forum and I'm waiting for an answer, but I can tell you that problem was already notified by others. I will inform you soon, stay tuned ;-)

Hi chami,
I asked on MozillaItalia's Forum anche they told me that Italian Dictionary was never included in Firefox due to licence problems, but it is possibile to download it from:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dizionario-italiano/
I am almost sure that in the past I had this dictionary into my extensions but now with 10 version... effectively I don't have it anymore................

Thank you for finding out about this issue, Luca. I'm working on a
better FAQ page for Tools and will add this to it.
So, there's good news... I went to the above address in Firefox 10 and
installed the Dizionario Italiano add-on. Reopened Tools, pressed F7,
and got this:

uhmmm there is something strange that I don't understand:
1) Must I have the italian dictionary installed in firefox to use it in Kit or it should be sufficient your edit cited above?
2) For now Kit shows me only english and dutch dictionaries (with english active) but anyway it doesn't spell check nothing.... If I specify to spell check a word, it tell me that file dictionary is not found, but why it shows me 2 dictionaris if there are not present!?!?1
3) At the end... if is sufficient your editing.. why is possible, in Kit, to create a new dictionary plugin?

I simply opened
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dizionario-italiano/ in
Firefox 10, clicked "Add to Firefox" and restarted Firefox.

Hmm... try this: open "Tools > Proofing > Edit and manage dictionaries"
and delete all dictionary plugins. Close it, open a new document and
press F7.
3) At the end... if is sufficient your editing.. why is possible, in
Kit, to create a new dictionary plugin?
The plugins are placeholders for dictionary files so you can control
which ones are enabled and so on.
If it still doesn't work for you, please let me know your Windows and
Firefox version/language. I'll try reproducing it here.

Hi Chami,
Thank for your very fast reply, this works perfectly !
I normally use Dutch browsers which do not have the English language default installed, but installing the dictionary in firefox automatically installs it in HTML Kit Tools.
I tried it with two dictionaries (US English and UK English) and it works for both. The spelling checker works very good in HTML Kit Tools.
Kind regards, Ivo.
