    Hi,

Is it possible to configure HTML-Kit tools to default to UNIX Line ending mode, instead of Windows?

I've carried out a google search, searched these forums and looked within the preferences but still can't find out how to do it, or if it can indeed be done.

    I'd appreciate any pointers.

    Thanks in advance, Derrick

      Hi Derrick,

Currently there's no option to set the default line ending mode. I've
      added this to to-do list.

But you can quickly change line ending mode through the status bar:

      http://www.htmlkit.com/view/#!/i/change-line-ending-mode-on-status-bar

In addition to the line ending drop-down on file save dialog, you can
find line ending related options on "File > Save Extra" and "Edit >
      Extra" menus.

Hope this helps in the meantime.

      Regards,
      Chami

        Thanks Chami,

I've been doing exactly as you've suggested.

Unfortunately, if I'm in a rush, I forget to change the line ending sometimes.

It's not always a problem, but caught me out on a customer's site a couple of years ago, causing lots of "Internal Server Error: 500", which a dev helped me out with. So now I always (try) to save in UNIX Line endings.

Anyway, not a biggie and look forward to seeing this feature in a future release :)

        Cheers,
        Derrick

I'd also appreciate a setting to define the default line ending mode.
I'm only working on Unix machines and have to change the line ending mode every time I create a new file.

You can set the line ending mode on the save dialog or by clicking the
indicator on the Status Bar. I guess you'd still prefer a default
            setting though?

Tools picks up the line ending mode from existing files so you shouldn't
have to do anything for files already in Unix mode.

After I create a new file on the ftp server, open it, edit it, save it - I always forget to switch the default Windows line ending to Unix and the script generates an error.
. I have to do this several times a day.

It's definitely not a "must have" feature.
But a default setting would make the work a little bit more comfortable. :-)

I create my scripts in tools, save them locally, but with a copy
saved on the server. I have never worried about line endings and
                everything works just fine.
