0615a server error ?

I am running Windows XP SP3 on an Asus Eee with an Intel Atom processor. I have had no problems with HTML-Kit Tools versions until this one: 01615a.
If I load one file into Tools there does not seem to be a problem. If I load two or more files into Tools, Tools locks up. Windows Task Manager reports it as Not Responding.
When I use Task Manager to close it, I keep getting a popup saying "Server execution error".
I have uninstalled Tools, rebooted, reinstalled Tools and continue to get the problem.

I have to be able to load and edit multiple files.

      Hi,

This error is referring to a Windows OLE server (not a web or external
server) so I'd try restarting the system. That should also reset those
      tasks.

If you continue to have any problems let me know which version you were
using prior to 0615 and the amount of free RAM (Help > About > Details).

I don't remember which version I used prior to 0615. I was away from home from March - June and was unable to upgrade during that time. So the version I was using was dated before 2013 March.

The Server execution error belonged to a tool from HTC for use with my HTC phone. I have removed everything from the hard drive and the registry to do with that product and that popup has disappeared. However Tools still locks up if I open more than one html file.

I should have mentioned initially that my Asus Eee runs XP Home SP3.

HTML-Kit Details reports 771,484 KB out of 2,088,108 KB of physical memory available.

Thanks for the follow-up. I'm not sure why this is happening when you
open a second file on this system. There's plenty of RAM left.

Could you try selecting "Kit > Profile > Extra-Temp" from top right hand
menu? You can switch back to the default profile the same way. Does that
          make any difference?

If you open HKT blank and press Ctrl+Shift+N several times, does it open
          multiple blank documents?

And finally, you can try disabling automatic tag matching which is new
to 0615 under "Edit > Preferences > Editor > Misc > Automatically mark
          matching tags : No."

Please let me know if you see any pattern with any of this.

Ctrl+Shift+N will open as many blank documents as I press the combination.

I switched to the Extra-Temp profile and continue to get the same issue. Once I open two or more documents in HKT it locks up. IIn addition I cannot use Alt+Tab to switch into it, although I can switch to any other open programme. If I click on HKT on the Task Bar it does not load. The only way out is using Task Manager to close the application.

It looks as if turning of Automatic tag matching is the key. Switching applications seems to be working. HKT is not locked up either. But it also looks like I no longer have access to the custom "macros" I built.

Thanks again for this! It sounds like we're getting somewhere.

If you don't mind trying out a TreeHouse test build let me create a new
one to try to fix automatic matching.

To get back your macros though, please try switching back to the default
profile under "Kit > Profile > Default."

I have been using the latest TreeHouse version with the Automatic tag matching turned off. It is working quite well with multiple files.
I had to rebuild the macros since the profiles got deleted during my initial struggles with the 0615 version.

That's great! Thank you for letting me know.

They still should have been there but for future reference you can also
make manual backups of projects, templates, shortcuts, plugins, etc.,
                  using "Kit > Backup" menu.
